Mitch Juricich

Born, raised and educated in San Francisco, Mitch Juricich is a 29 year veteran of the local sports media, having covered professional and amateur sports for both the print and electronic mediums.

He currently holds memberships in the California Golf Writers Association, the Northern California Golf Association, the United States Golf Association, the Football Writers of America, and the local chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He has been honored with "Good Guy Award" by the California Golf Writers as well as the “Media Representative of the Year” by the Northern California PGA.

With a passion for golf, he created and wrote the concept for Hooked on Golf, a program that is seen on Fox Sports Net, as well as heard in Northern California on radio’s KNBR 680 'the sports leader'. Sports Illustrated called the radio program 'the most successful of the few golf radio shows in existence.'

In 1996 he started Tournament Event Enterprises (T.E.E.) a successful out-source provider of customized and simplified golf tournaments and events. "T.E.E." has already been involved in well over 200 events that have raised in excess of $3,500,000!

Long before he was hooked on anything, he was hooked on the Niners. As a 45 year season ticket holder, Niner football was his first passion. In 1983 he became a panelist on a Niner highlight show on Channel 36 in San Jose and covered the team until 1991. In 1989 he became the co-host of the show. As his zeal for the team remained, so did his drive to reestablish a Niner program for the most ardent of fans, fans that always stick with the home town team. To that end, he launched Hooked on the Niners, a fresh, different look at the Niners, in 2007 on PenTV. He has also partnered to create and launch hookedontheniners.com, a site that is a must for all true Niner fans.

Mitch currently lives on the peninsula with his wife of 36 years and their two children. His daughter, a St. Mary’s graduate, recently earned her Masters Degree at UC Davis. His son, a four- year pitcher at Serra High School, is a sophomore pitcher at Cañada College.

Mitch’s favorite saying: "That's the way life was headin' west".
